Diakoftis Beach

Diakoftis beach is located on the southernmost coast of the island of Karpathos, near the airport, about 20 kilometers from Pigadia (the capital).
It is actually two beaches in one, both characterized by a splendid crystalline sea with fine and soft sand and by a suggestive tropical atmosphere that gives the beach a special peculiarity. For many Diakoftis is one of the most beautiful beaches in Karpathos. Its waters are perfect for those who make beach life and for those traveling with the little ones: thanks to their shallow water for a few meters, children can have fun and the older ones can relax without worries.

Is Diakoftis beach equipped?

Once you arrive at Diakoftis beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas for only € 10 a day, go to the bar to nibble on a snack or refresh yourself with a drink, or by moving a little more you can visit the "Kantina !, located on the road leading to the bay.
The Diakoftis beach has a peaceful and peaceful atmosphere. In fact, although Diakoftis enjoys a certain fame, it is never too crowded or chaotic, most likely this is due to its size.
Another factor that characterizes Diakoftis beach is the wind. In fact, the beach is often exposed to Greek winds so on windy days it is not advisable. But on hot and muggy days it is perfect for relaxing with a little sea breeze.
A tip we give you is to explore the beach from top to bottom. Admire every hidden corner: you could discover an infinite variety of colorful shells, all different from each other. But above all go to discover the flora and fauna that inhabit these crystal clear waters. Fish, crabs, molluscs and maybe even some beautiful moray eels. In short, arm yourself with masks and jump to discover its seabed.

How to reach Diakoftis beach?

To reach Diakoftis beach, simply follow the road that leads to the airport. If you come from the east coast you will need to turn right just before reaching the airport and then immediately left. If instead you arrive from the west coast you only have to turn right. You will notice that after about 2 kilometers another detour occurs, do not follow it otherwise you will be led to other beaches on the island of Karpathos.
