Perivolos Beach

Perivolos beach is a characteristic beach of coarse black sand mixed with small dark pebbles, located in the southern part of the island of Santorini, about 17 km from the capital Fira.

It is one of the best known and appreciated in the whole island, also because it is very large and easy to reach. It is in fact just ten minutes walk from the most famous Perissa and can also be reached by bus: Perivolos is the stop before Perissa. Visually there are no barriers between these beaches: what you will find will be a long stretch of dark sand with various establishments, alternated with free stretches.

The Perivolos beach is also very popular for its tranquility, in fact thanks to its size, it is never too crowded, so relaxation is guaranteed!

If you love walking on sand, be careful because it becomes very hot in summer, so we advise you to wear flip-flops or rubber shoes up to the shoreline. In fact, all the beaches have wooden runners to avoid this inconvenience.

The very clean water, of an intense blue, which becomes deep after a few meters, is ideal for taking a swim and exploring the seabed by snorkeling. It is less suitable for those who cannot swim and prefer shallow water. Very recommended when the winds blow from the northern direction.

All the beaches offer free sunbeds and umbrellas "in exchange" for a drink at the bar, where prices are still moderate.

Despite being a very quiet place, Perivolos beach offers the possibility to practice numerous water sports, such as diving, windsurfing or water skiing, for adrenaline lovers.

Along the coast there are numerous taverns, bars, restaurants and nightclubs, perfect for sampling some Greek specialties, perhaps based on fish. Stop in the evening and take a leisurely stroll along the Perivolos beach, choose from the various typical restaurants and spend a beautiful and romantic evening admiring the wonder of the Aegean Sea.

The Perivolos beach is ideal for a nice refreshing bath, or for relaxing in the sun, to show off a perfect tan on your return. Without forgetting the opportunity to practice various sports and enjoy great food. The right mix for a perfect holiday!
