White Beach

White Beach is located along the southern coast of the island, just after the Red Beach, 15 kilometers from the capital Fira. It is a beautiful and economical beach, one of the most sensational of the island of Santorini. Lefki Paralia, so known above all by the local people, can be reached from the port of Akrotiri and the Red Beach through a small boat, taking about 15 minutes. In reality it is also possible another alternative, that is to take the boat from Kamari or Perissa, which, with less than 5 minutes more than the boat of Akrotiri, will also take you directly to this white bay. Tickets can be purchased directly on the boat which runs approximately every 30 minutes.

Already during the journey, looking at it from afar, you will fall in love with it, precisely because it is very clear compared to the other dark or black beaches of Santorini. Precisely for this reason it is called White Beach, although more precisely this name has been assigned to it with regard to the high white wall.

Once you get off you will be breathless in front of the sand wall that seems designed because of its "deformations" caused by the wind and that make it unique in its kind. White Beach is small so it fills up quite quickly, also given its fame. We suggest you to go to the bay early in the morning so that you can fully enjoy its coarse black sand mixed with white and gray pebbles, an extraordinary play of colors that can be glimpsed with the crowd very little.

When your stomach growls you can go to the small tavern on the beach where you can have a good Greek lunch and buy umbrellas and equipment. We advise you to stop to try the really delicious fish fry!
White Beach is great for snorkeling, its underwater caves and its hidden corners are fantastic to explore from top to bottom.

If you prefer more peace of mind and use your towels to spread out on the ground then you can head either to the southern part of White Beach or to the northern area.

The shallow water, just a few meters from the shore, is splendid and clean and the rocks that emerge from the sea are great for sunbathing.
This small and beautiful beach is worth a visit!
